Yes — this model is road legal in the UK. It’s classed as an EAPC (electric assist bicycle), so it can be ridden on public roads and cycle paths like a standard bike, without any issues from the police.
The bike is excellent, and I heartily recommend it to any considering buying a new. E-bike. I purchased it from its hill climbing ability as i live in a very hilly area and it has transformed my experience of climbing these.
The price i s excellent and i made a considerable saving over other sites selling this bike, including Engle themselves.
However, I would have scored more than three stars if the service offered via customer services had been more proficient ent and professional. Also if accurate information was given from the first contact with customer services. Instead I was left sitting at home for three days waiting for the bikes delivery, which never happened.
Trying to contact customer services was a non starter via the telephone number given by any means and though I left numerous messages and my own contact details in the message I recieved no return call from customer services.
I tried updating my own details on my account on several occasions, though did not work.
So I emailed Customer services and explained my concerns. The first contact was professional, civil and helpful, though after this on subsequent emails from customer services I received less than polite and certainly unprofessional communications. Indeed it was evident that they had not read my former emails to Trail Surge customer services and as such Which were not helpful, and as I said a little rude in nature.
This being a shame for Trail Surge as a new company cannot afford such reviews as this. I would have made complaint over the later email received, but the agent responsible for this was not indicated in their email.
Would I but from Trail Surge again? I don’t know, would I recommend that you but from Trail Surge? No, not at this time and in view of my own recent experience.
I invite trail Surge to contact me directly if they would appreciate a constructive response to my experience in the hopes of bettering their services. This to be in a professional and civilised manner of course.

Solid and reliable
Motor is impressively quiet and the assist is smooth. Took a short while to get used to the folding latch.
