How fast does a Surron Light Bee go?

The current Sur-Ron Light Bee X is officially listed with a top speed of 46.6 mph. That figure is for the off-road Light Bee X, not the separate road-legal L1/L1E version.

Do you need a licence for a Surron Light Bee?

Yes for road use. The standard Light Bee X is an off-road model, and Sur-Ron’s own manual says the X version is prohibited from driving on public roads. In UK law, the “no licence needed” rule only applies to an EAPC that has pedals, a motor with maximum continuous rated power of no more than 250W, and electrical assistance that cuts off at 15.5 mph. Anything outside that is treated as a motor vehicle, so road use means the proper road-legal version plus the relevant registration, insurance, and licence/CBT requirements for its class.

Can you ride a Surron in the rain?

Yes, in normal rain and wet conditions, but don’t treat it like it’s fully waterproof. Sur-Ron says the Light Bee X battery pack has IP67 protection, and the manual describes the battery pack as water resistant. But the same manual also warns not to immerse the battery pack, says water crossing depth should not exceed the centre of the wheel, says do not charge in the rain, and warns against using high-pressure water on the battery/electrical parts. So: rain is generally fine, deep water and pressure-washing the electrics are not.

Is the Surron Light Bee X waterproof?

The Surron Light Bee X is water-resistant and suitable for riding in light to moderate rain. It is not fully waterproof and should not be submerged. Short term, your product can get a little wet and be in the rain, but any long-term exposure can cause serious problems.
